Oh The Things You Can See On a Morning Walk!

That's no "Doe a Deer"! It's amazing that this buck stopped and posed as Dianne's Golden Retriever, Gabby, was walking with us.

Playing catch-up with my posts. For some reason my laptop decided not to read my camera cards so I finally got out and purchased a USB cable for my Canon. No need to post a comment on every shot- I just appreciate you taking time to look!
this is an interesting "Golden Retriever",

I'm sure it is the GR that this buck is transfixed with! We found cattle would follow ours for miles!

@yaorenliu Thanks Yao- Gabby surprised us. She didn't try to run after him, but then she could see the antlers as well as we could.
@maggiemae Thanks Maggie! lol

@anazad511 Thanks Ana! This was the big daddy. On our first loop we saw him, another buck with a smaller "rack", a doe and two "just past their spots" babies. The second time the others were still hiding among the trees but this fellow had decided to move on. We respectfully kept our distance but the whole time I kept hoping my zoom would let me get a decent shot. Yippee! It did.

I would imagine that buck could be quite dangerous if challenged. He is quite handsome

Oh wow!! Great shot, Ann! What a fabulous surprise!!! You think I'd see plenty deer here, but alas, I can't find them! This is perfect and he's so still I thought he might be fake at first! Well done! :)

@digitalrn thanks Rick! Yes, he could certainly do some damage- thankfully he'd rather avoid us than come into contact.
@prttblues thanks Bev! Your deer have more places to hide- that's probably why you don't see them as often. But when it's not hunting season, you'll probably find them in the fields of some of the farms on your mountain at dusk. thanks for the fav!!
