Bev had admired some processing on a picture but wasn't certain if the same effect was available in Ribbet. So I played around today and here's how you do it Bev:
First- pick a subject that lends itself to being partially covered by an effect. I was looking for something that would look like it was emerging from the texture and chose this paperweight.
Upload your shot to Ribbet. In the basics menu, sharpen, adjust color and contrast etc. as desired.
Apply Pencil Sketch effect from the Effects menu. Slide the "strength" slider to the highest percentage. Paint the original picture back in on the areas you desire to stand out. Add a frame if you choose.
In this shot I left the background with the effect in tact, but painted back in the edge of the paperweight and parts of the lion's face. I then added a "Reflection" frame in colors that matched those in the paperweight.
My apologies for it being so out of focus! I've got a cold and I don't feel so great.
Nice shot, Ann! Cool processing! Thanks for letting me know how to do it! I now need a subject to test this on! Well done :) And get some rest!!! Feel better soon!
Here's another picture based on the same idea: http://365project.org/olivetreeann/themes-and-comp/2012-09-16
Thank you so much everyone- saving energy to comment on your shots but boy has this cold knocked me for a loop!
