There were Christmas decorations out in the stores before Halloween this year. I think these folks thought by putting the Jack-o-lantern in the trees along with their Christmas decorations that they were giving Halloween equal time!

Cute shot. I know a person who put up Halloween decorations for Christmas this year in protest of the commercialization of Christmas. I don't think that is the case with your photo subject.

Great catch, Ann. I think you may be right. Xmas decorations were up well before Halloween started. It seems to start earlier and earlier. Although ... perhaps the people who put this up were thinking of Jack in A Nightmare Before Christmas!
