We had homemade mushroom soup and omelets for dinner tonight. A perfect dinner for 11 degree weather! This particular mushroom slice really caught my eye with its paper-thin ribbing. Hope you're all keeping warm, or cool, depending on which hemisphere and season you're in right now.
@edie Thanks Edie! I have to laugh as I was holding it in my hands and staring at it for a minute or so and Jeff said, "What ARE you looking at?!" @kerristephens Thank you Kerri! @dibzgreasley Thank you Debs! Can one say a mushroom is beautiful? This particular mushroom would have been argument for the answer, "Yes!" @ltodd Thanks you Lyn! Yes, while its fellow slices were bubbling away in the pot, this one had a short time of reprise. @bulldog@salza Now, don't get all mushy on me!! @pools82 Thank you Mike! It's my cutting board- and thanks so much for the fav!! @joansmor Thank you Joan! I know what you mean. We get conditioned into thinking that everything must be bright and full of color. While I was taking this one, I kept thinking it was like a sepia shot- without any photo manipulation. @francoise Thank you Francoise! Yes, they can be quite melodramatic at times. It gets the peppers in a dither too. @lsanderson55 Thank you Leigh Anne! It took several shots and a couple different angles to get it just right. @digitalrn Thank you Rick! Not a fan of mushrooms, are we?
Love the colour tones and textures in this shot. My husband's favourite comment is "what have you lost" as i stand gazing at something working out if it would make a good picture!
Nice shot, Ann. I love mushroom. I love mushroom soup. I also love omelets with mushrooms and swiss cheese. You have to come up and cook for me! I may love the soup and omelets but I'll be darned if I can make them myself! Omelets usually turn into scrambled eggs. Very good job capturing the texture and the detail of the mushroom slice.
@bill_fe Thanks Bill- no I think it's too late for the last one and too early for the next. I think I just read it starts today (the 29th) and this was taken on the 27th.
@daisymiller Thanks Daisy! @prttblues Thanks Bev! My first omelets were disasters. And every now and then I mess one up- mostly when I'm not paying attention to the pan! @fugitivemoments Thank you Linda! @nicoleterheide Thank you Nicole!
@sfeldphotos Thanks Sam! Not too many of them have those folds showing so distinctly. @taffy Thank you Taffy! I took almost 30 shots of this thing! I was trying out all different ways to photograph it so I could get a shot of the "hairs". This showed them off the best. @vesna0210 Thank you Vesna!
