The Struggle by olivetreeann

The Struggle

Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of sheep shearing to me was the way the shearer subdued the sheep. It was a combination of gentle persuasion to all out battle depending on the size and personality of the animal. The strongest and most defiant of her "clients" that day was Andy, the BIG ram who was extremely reluctant at first, but eventually gave in to her. This shot was taken at the height of his struggle, but also at the moment when he realized he wasn't going to win.
I can't express how powerful I find this picture. It is intense Anne, great job.

Her strength and determination shows through. Fabulous action capture. To a much lesser degree I can relate to her struggle.

We have seen lots of sheep thar appear recently clipped. I always thought they were only clipped in spring.

@joansmor I did too but I learned from the farmer that some breeds require two shearings- and Icelandic sheep are one of those breeds.
@grammyn It is!

Thanks Joan and Katy!
