Arrgghhh! I could just kick myself. Such tunnel vision I have!
Stopped at my new favorite spot before work...yes, the nature park. :-)
Had my mind set on some autumn leaves or iris as a counter to the dismal gray skies we were under. Down the path I went, and then up ahead I saw a man and a beautiful big white dog walking toward me. As we neared each other, I commented on the size of his dog and he started telling me what a sweetheart she is. And she really is...Ginger and I had a nice little moment.
He said she is part timberwolf and was bred illegally and that she was a rescue.
I was crunched for time, so I didn't linger. I had leaves and flowers to shoot, don't ya know. Never mind the awesome dog that I had just met!! It wasn't until after the two of them had left the park that I realized what I had done.
So I repeat:
Arrgghh! I could just kick myself. Such tunnel vision I have!
Don't you just hate when that happens? I'm sure you've learned from that though and will get the shot next time an opportunity like that presents itself.
Oh those missed opportunities! We all have them and I'm sure we've all done exactly that from time-to-time. As @turning_40 says, maybe you'll run into the dog/timberwolf again sometime. This is a beautiful shot of the Iris, though. I love the way you've caught the light on those lovely petals.
So pretty. You could have thrown a doggy treat in amongst the flowers and got both....where is your head at. I like your stories, you seem very friendly and open......nice
Awww don't beat yourself up too much my dear :) You'll be back at that spot and hopefully they will be as well so you will get another photo op! The dog sounds very cool :) I look forward to the possibility :) But onto this picture... it is a gorgeous shot! I love these flowers! And only partially because purple is my favorite color ;) You have amazing POV here and the details you captured are outstanding! Very well done!! I think it makes up for the brain-freeze moment :)
This is a great shot of this Iris. The color is beautiful and love your story. I think we have all done that or take too many shots we love in one day and have to chose. Next time you will take a photo of the dog.
