Not much of a photo I'm afraid, but this was my day. Stuck in traffic on a motorway, and this little fella gave me a bit of a fright, suddenly dropping down from behind my rear view mirror!!! š
A scary moment when a spider suddenly drops in isn't it. We get huntsman spiders hiding behind our sun visors or on occasion they run across your dashboard when you are doing 100 km on the freeway.
We don't usually see many of them in winter, but a few days ago I saw a huntsman spider on the inside of my passenger door as I was driving home. It was about 10 cm across (4 in) and I very carefully pulled over, opened the passenger door and flicked it out of the car. I suspect it had been hibernating in my car for the winter, ha ha. I hope he didn't have any friends with him.
brilliant focus and details
I will say Peter, that you are very brave in taking this photo. I more than likely would have told the spider it can keep the car and I would have run away
Not nice being car-jacked by a spider
