It's our daughter's birthday tomorrow, and today Miriam is baking a birthday cake.
My supermarket trip today was both fascinating and shocking. I later heard that there is £1bn more food in people's cupboards than there was 3 weeks ago. The evidence in store is quite plain to see, empty shelves and some desperation amongst shoppers. How very close we are to all those dystopian post-apocalyptic novels that I used to think could never come true?
We are afraid of what may happen and at the same time we have no confidence in the political class. Even in such a difficult situation, politicians cannot talk to each other. Great pov and dof.
Shopping is very difficult these days isn't it. My husband has to come with me now. Usually he writes on my list the things he wants like a particular cheese or cereal etc. I have been spending so much time looking for alternatives when his 'favourites' aren't on the shelves. I now say come with me and pick your own.
Yes it is a panic- and its just certain items ( tissues and toilet paper ) that get horded more than others. This looks the start of a wonderful cake !
Nice composition and DOF. Not sure where you live, but the supermarket trip sounds depressing. Our stores are being restocked regularly here (Oskaloosa, Iowa).
I have avoided the supermarket queues so far - we had a delivery last Sunday and have a delivery slot for Wednesday, so depending on what is delivered I might need to go searching after that.
We are only in week 2 here, I am sure we will get to your level soon.

Happy Birthday to Miriam.
