I had walked down to the shore just before breakfast when I spotted the elephants making their way to the water's edge, about 500 yards across the river. Eventually, they crossed through the water at a shallow spot, quickly disappearing into the dense foliage on the other side. We were to see many more elephants at close range in South Africa later in the trip but this first sighting was most memorable!
An amazing experience and shot..... Imagine seeing all these "wild ones" in person. Would love to go on an African photo safari, but with the Ebola situation, there is no way I'll ever get my husband there now..... FAV for sure.
