Twelve cubic feet of mulch put down in this garden. Not quite finished on the back side, but as an engineer friend says, the project is “substantially completed.”
As I wrote three years ago, “Every time I do it, I think this is the last time I’m doing it myself. And here I am another year.
“But the spreading of the mulch is not the most onerous part of the whole process. That title belongs to the prepping of the beds: weeding them.”
Did it myself again in 2022, another year older…
Did it myself again last year in 2023, another year older…
And here we are in 2024, another year older…
But again, it’s the weeding and trimming and ripping out the dead bits that’s more time- and energy-consuming than the actual mulch work.
