Shot is from a walk along the promenade of the Marina di Ragusa on 21st July 2024, second day of our family get together in Sicily.
I love swimming but when I saw this scene I immediately turned away - all those people packed like sardines on the beach and in the sea! I always prefer the rocky beaches and places that are not crowded with people and where you can swim at leasure. The last time I have been to a sandy beach in Malta was at least 40 years ago when my children were still very young so I guess sandy beaches in Malta are just like this.
We had some beautiful rain yesterday but the timing was against us. As soon as we got out of the water from our daily swim and had started changing our clothes we started feeling rain drops and by the time we got to the car a torrential rain struck. A friend of mine gave us a lift to where our car was but still by the time we got inside our home we were completely drenched. Luckily my canary who I left in his cage outside in the yard didn’t get wet as he had some cover over the cage.

I agree it’s no fun in my opinion! I dint generally like beaches these days…..plus Harry hates them so we only go occasionally in the winter with our daughters dog who of course loves beaches! I like the photo though!
