I spotted the bright yellow flowers on a cloudy day, so I returned when the sun came out. I was snapping away when a couple Clouded Sulphur butterflies showed up to take advantage of what the flowers had to offer.
Don't you just love it when something flies into your photo session and adds an extra point of interest. Beautiful bug and blooms you've captured here.
Thank you all so much for your wonderful comments and favs! I am sorry about the slow reply and activity lately. I thought that as we headed into the latter months of the year things would slow down and stabilize. But that hasn't been the case. I was planning on a home related project this year that I knew once I started that it would require a lot of time to finish it. I asked a neighbor for help with doing part of it which he did, but we discovered something I hadn't planned on and the project is going to require more time than I had planned. On top of that I may be asked to fill a position that has been on my mind for months now and I still haven't reached an answer. A friend of mine asked me last night if I might rejoin the camera club I once belonged to and I told her I wasn't sure if I had the time. And with Autumn right around the corner which requires leaf removal at two homes. So, right now the fun things I once enjoyed are being choked out by the, "I need to get this done" things. I'll pop in when and if I can.
Life... it can be quite distracting, can't it. I bet there are but a few who don't completely understand. Best wishes on your project including the unexpected part and the possible return to the Camera Club. In the meantime, thanks for the compliment shared on my GRT Sprocket shot of a few days ago. Yup, I totally arranged that scene. Had I found it 'naturally', it would've been covered in cobwebs for sure. The spiders find all the good stuff first.
What a gorgeous butterfly. So delicate and lovely. I have not been that lucky with them. They just flit off to other pretty flowers...so many to choose from. Fav for me.
@lyndemc - Thanks for your understanding comment Denise. I have almost completed the project. I still haven't fully decided how to finish or what would be the best way to finish it up.
@milaniet - Thank you Milanie! I'd sure would like to!
@eyesmile - I remember the president of the camera club I once belonged to saying that one of the most challenging subjects he ever tried to shoot was butterflies. He said he was in Florida on vacation once and founds lots of butterflies. He took hundreds of photos and when he got home he had to delete most of them because they were blurry. Shooting butterflies can really try your patience.
