Painter's Tools

My wife and I went to a local craft store looking for some things for a project. I spotted these brushes and thought I'd zoom in and see what I could do with three simple brushes.
Neat composition, focus.

Creative idea for a still-life subject. I tell myself when I'm wondering what to take a picture of that there's honestly a hundred things within arm's reach that would serve as a subject. We just have to be able to 'see' the potential. You sure did here.

@mamamayerle - Thank you so much Maurisa!

@lyndemc - Thank you very much Denise! I have asked myself that same question! Are there photo opportunities anywhere you look! I thought it would be great to have the chance to go for a walk with a big name photographer and watch as they spot things they feel are worthy of being a photographic subject. Then observe how they choose to shoot it. From a distance or fill the frame. I think the next best thing is to study the photography of others and see what makes their work so good. Then take lots of pictures. I know I delete a lot. Some for obvious reasons. Blurred., over or under exposed or the camera didn't record it like you saw it. I think that's the best way to teach yourself to see.

@skipt07 I wholeheartedly agree about the take lots of pictures, try out different angles/settings/compositions, etc. It's an excellent way to learn and find our groove. Studying other's picture both here on this site and the many other photo communities has been a great inspiration for ideas. Your paintbrush picture is one of those inspiring ones!
