yellow is the colour of greed - day two of the seven deadly sins challenge
"For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? For what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" (Mark 8:36-37)
the colour of greed is yellow. yellow is the dominant hue in gold. gold is worth a lot of money and everyone needs money. even more so, everyone wants money. a lot of money gives us power. more money means more power.
we build taller and taller buildings, so tall they almost reach the sky. mankind’s greed has led us to live in a world of excess. we don't just supersize - we megasize. after we reached the moon we now aim for mars and beyond the stars. man no longer wants to rule the world, it is too small for him. so he aims to explore and own the universe.
we are a world consumed by greed. the greed to know more. the greed to have more. the greed to be more. such lofty aspirations.
note about the model: the windows of this gold building apparently are covered with 24-karat gold sheets.

Wow, you are challenging yourself on several levels! Great interpretation, excellent pic --- I like the perspective and the processing! Tomorrow's ... yikes! lol
@sunnygreenwood - anne, this challenge is a b****! i have the right idea about colour representation but the execution is quite difficult. yikes is right!
@danig - thanks, DG. i should've dedicated this processing to @slang, don't you think so? @steeler - thanks, howard. sometimes one doesn't have to look hard for a subject. @bkbinthecity - thanks, bkb. when i think of greed, that quote always comes to mind. @cscecil - ooohhh, you wouldn't want to know how my mind really works. hahahaha! thanks, CS. @altadc - thanks, alta. the processing was just one click and that was all it needed.
i was wondering what you were going to do for yellow. i did not note the reference. this is wonderful; very creative and thought-provoking. perfection in choice of buildings.
had an undergrad professor who had us write an essay re: opinion of $$. got lots of pat replies on how it was nasty stuff and not liked or needed. i look around see many living cover lives with no substance, all concerned about what they look like, nothing underneath. no idea at all what thoreau meant when he said the land owned them.
@catsmeowb - very true, camille. i suppose it's the sign of the times. btw, i lost my posting this morning! i don't know, but i was editing something in my blurb and i don't know what happened. when i checked at the office this afternoon that was the only time i became aware of it. i must've done something and deleted it by mistake. sorry about that.
great shot for 'greed' and clearly genuine and heartfelt commentary on power and money in capitalist/consumerist society today. and great processing btw.
great photo, love that gold tower of greed!
@steeler - thanks, howard. sometimes one doesn't have to look hard for a subject.

@roth - thanks, sue.
@ilseal - ms. ilse, i would've gotten some if it was possible. haha! thank you.
