light blue is the colour of sloth - day three of the seven deadly sins challenge
"The kindest word to describe my performance in school was Sloth." - Harrison Ford
sloth is defined as the dislike of or aversion to or avoidance of physical or spiritual work.
and if mr. harrison ford was my man, i'd just be contented staring at him the whole day. yup, do nothing but stare at him. i mean, didn't you see him in those indiana jones movies? (i guess this is more for "lust" hahahaha!)
i definitely think my camera has PMS. it says this picture was taken july 5 but it kept uploading to july 4. i'm losing control of this thing. oh, well, whatever.....
lovely picture -- and yet it depicts sloth.....love your interpretation. And yes, let's just sit and stare at Mr. Ford all the live long day. Works for me -- !!
aha! i was commenting on this yesterday and went to look at it again to see if that was a bird or a plane. . .i really think it is a bird. anyways, i so appreciate that you have referenced where you are getting the color suggestions. they are very interesting; i would never associate blue with sloth at all.
Yet, your photo does, in my opinion, perfectly depict Harrison's attitude and the actual definition: no work, aversion, sleep during daylight. the only thing it does for me, though is invoke a feeling of spirituality, which is the opposite of what you wanted to achieve. all the same elements that make it work for the sin also make it the opposite for me. does that make any sense?
@patticake - yay for harrison ford! thanks, patti. @russianblue - what the... rob ford?!? stare at him? you are so funny, i take it you like ham? hahahaha! joke! @roth - it's an airplane! i'm pretty sure because it was the reason i took the photo. @rynce - thanks, rynce.
@catsmeowb - it's a plane, i know it's too small to make out but i assure you it's a plane :-) i also would not have associated light blue as the colour for sloth, that's why i chose this blue as it bordered on gray. i should have explained that it (at least to me) depicts the attitude of one not wanting to work, one who daydreams all the time. i wanted to have something nice to look at even though the subject is 'sloth' (something negative?).
you are right, the same elements that work for the sin in some ways work the opposite way, too. i suppose it's all subjective.
@ilseal - nice pun, ms. ilse! my camera's a sloth! thank you. @samdan - thanks, lesley. btw, it's a plane! lol!
