"p.s. i love you" by the beatles by summerfield

"p.s. i love you" by the beatles

"I'll be coming home again to you, love
Until the day I do, love
P.S. I love you.
As I write this letter
Send my love to you
Remember that I'll always be in love with you."
(McCartney, with Lennon, from the album "Please, Please Me", 1962)

the song is typical of McCartney's bouncy, catchy tunes. the lyrics were written primarily with their female audience in mind.

work and life, once again, interefered with my photographic pursuits. this 'p' song is a last minute switch from another mccartney song, "penny lane". the other 'p' songs needed specific photo subjects but i have my two grandsons with me this weekend so i have to improvise yet again. the next days should be better.

i used to like this song which became popular when i was in grade 5. now i really don't care much for it. it's okay for reminiscing but when i play my CD's of the beatles, i mostly skip this song. i am more into the lennon tunes and philosophical lyrics.

where were you when you first heard this song?
i really like the processing here, cool effects! Enjoy every minute of the weekend with your grandsons.

Ditto on that -- love the effect you created with the letter!!! And did I hear mention of Penny Lane?? (that one is easy - a bunch of pennies on the street, right?!)

hmm...i dont remember. great letter photo my friend. hope you are enjoying your little ones!

yes, some of them are really sort of 'pop' tunes, and i agree, i love the lennon songs so much. i have a lennon cd that i listen to quite a bit and so enjoy it. like how you did this - how you can't read the letter but can see just enough. nice job.

Nice creativity use for the song- you are good.

Excellent choice of processing and I love the placement of your watermark!

@sunnygreenwood - thank you, anne. the grands always have a lot of fun whenever they're with "lola" (it's grandma in our languange).

@cscecil - thank you, CS. about a mile or so from where i live, there is a small cozy road called 'penny lane'. i wanted to go there and take a pic with the sign and all the beautiful gardens of the homes there. i also wanted to go to a fire station and take sneal photos of firemen, alas, being a lola this weekend restricted me quite a bit. but i think my alternate plan worked, albeit a tad lame.

@danig - you probably weren't born yet, DG, at the time this song became popular. :-) thank you, my friend. hope you're having a nice weekend, too.

@catsmeowb - thank you, camille. john lennon rocks! or rocked, i should say.

@jannkc - thanks, jann. not bad for a last minute posting, eh?

@slang - thanks, sean. looking at the watermark, i thought it kind of blended in and looked like it was actually there. thanks again.

Now here's another Beatle song I didn't hear about. I have to double time on my research. :) nice processing here.

@altadc - shows how young you are. when i was there three years ago, a radio station was still playing beatles songs every sunday morning. thank you, alta.

great processing :-) not my favourite song (I don't like 'bouncy') ...and it is unusual cos a session musician plays drums, not origanl drummer Pete Best or Ringo Starr!

Nicely done. I can't remember where I was when I first hear this song

@patticake - i think pete best was already replaced by that time and the producer didn't know that there was a replacement. this is not a favourite of mine, either. i thought it's kind of very sugary. thanks, patti.

@bkbinthecity - thanks, bkb!
