page 129, The Man Who Loved Books Too Much by Allison Hoover Bartlett
today's word from line 19 of the page is "bridge". here's a shot of a bridge i took last weekend during one of our drives. those leaves would've all fallen by now if the strong winds during the last four days were any indication and the rains surely helped. it's actually a little bridge connecting the links of a golf course.
i found out that my camera, the canon, can do a bit of processing, like colour adjustment. too bad it doesn't correct the tilt of the shot.
thank you so much, my friends, for your comments on my previous postings even though i could not acknowlege you immediately. i should have time to catch up and comment on your your postings this weekend.
lovely colours here and I kinda like the tilt, the world aint straight mate! lol looks like a nice place to drive, to stop and take snaps, to be. just lovely.
We've had some rain and winds too, so the leaves are really starting to come down now. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. It is almost the end of October!
Beautiful . . you really go on lovely drives, summerfield. I'm usually saying, "turn here . ." because I see something decaying or rusting or very old! Now I KNOW I'm weird! lol Gorgeous shot of this bridge!
@danig - we have lots of lovely sceneries here, DG. quite different from yours but just as lovely. one day, i'll show you around. :-)
@olivetreeann - crappy weather eh. i don't mind the cold, really. it's the damp and rain i don't like. but i guess the plant life needs the rain. and where did october go? just like that, it's almost done. thank you, ann.
@karenann - believe me, karenann, if i was behind the wheel i'd choose the unbeaten path, too. but 'director' partner always tells me, stop wasting the film! (yes, the film - giggle here!) whenever i take pictures of what he calls "crap". but he desperately wants to be part of my activities so i just let him. afterwards i just go on my own photo trek. but he's a courier man so he gets to see a lot of places and he takes note of those and then brings me there on the weekends. thank you, karenann.
one time, i showed him a photo i took of a large dead fish by the beaches, all the flesh had been eaten off by the sea gulls and the bones and bloody head were all that's left. he said there's no photographic merit to it and what would i do with the photos. i told him, someday i'm going to post it on 365! he cringed! hahahaha.
@bkbinthecity - it's not a beautiful golf course but good enough for wayne gretzky to play in so it must be good. thank you, bkb.
nice colors and bridge. I too like the tilt but someone once commented on my un-level photo and I found a thing in Picnic that straightens them. I use it sometimes.
i like this shot a lot. sometimes even though we live from places spread all across the globe, it seems like we all have little spots feel familiar. almost like, 'i know this place.' that is how your photo makes me feel when i look at it, as though i have been there before, although i know i have not. nice capture.
@jannkc - in picnik? holy molly, i didn't know that. you'd have to tell me because i've been racking my brain looking in picnik for that. thanks, jann.
@catsmeowb - ontario is not too far off the border so i'm pretty sure in the olden times the vicinities were all just one big forest, until man came and we know what happened after that :-) thanks, camille.
@steeler - might not be looking like this anymore today. but i'm still going around and shoot. thanks, howard.
@eddyj - unfortunately i don't have PS5 or any other PS. i just used what's available online. but i'd be sure to drop a hint to my partner and family about what would make a fantastic christmas gift for me! thanks, eddy.
Pretty fall scene...reminds me of when my mom and I would take a fall trip to the mountains to stay in an old inn and shop. What does that sign mean? bumpy road? Hilly road ahead? Just curious. And, piknik can correct tilt! You just up load your pic, go to "basic edits" and pick "rotate." It had a grid superimposed on your photo and you turn it until the lines line up. Then crop out the margins and voila! straight photo!
I just have to tell you that I'm giggling over the "film" remark too!! That's so sweet! :) Love having my husband with me . . but sometimes he just waits because he doesn't want to walk where I walk. Which is usually in "circles!" lol
@espyetta - thank you so much, MB!!! it's funny how i have never noticed that. sometimes i doubt whether i could read english hahahaha! if i was your student you'd have given me a failing mark already. read, summerfield, read!!!!
@karenann - you liked that 'film' remark eh! it doesn't matter how much i explain to him that nothing gets wasted, he still insists i'm wasting film. i just have to shake my head most times, but there are times i'd like to strangle him silly.
@sunnygreenwood - thank you, anne. it's gone too cold suddenly. it's funny that on one side of the streets, almost all the trees are bare, while on the other side only half had changed their colours. weird!
