my old lunch service linens revisited. i have not used these dainty little things for sometime. my best friend lulu sent this pretty lunch service set to me twenty-some years ago when i told her that i had purchased a new set of china. all i told her was that there's a flower in the shade of pink or coral. i was surprised when i opened the package and found these lovely pink iris embroidered lunch service of 8 placemats, 8 coasters, 8 napkins and a table runner. the flower on my china pattern is iris. that confirmed once more that our great minds were really in sync.
while the china is still used every now and then when there's special company, the lunch linens' pink motif has lost its appeal to me. i'm into blue now, or just plain white. but when you come and visit and have tea with me and you request that we use this lunch service, i'd gladly acquiesce, of course.
ideas are hard to come by these last few days. and when they do come, they always come at the last minute. i was already in bed when this pink thing came to mind.
This is so beautifully photographed . . very inviting. You know that the tea has to taste better in this kind of setting. What a great friend you have. A blessing.
@karenann - will serve you only the best tea ever, my friend, in porcelain teapot, steeped just like how the queen of england would have it. served with biscuits, with fruit preserves and clotted cream. you must remember, of course, that when we're on 365, we are to pretend we are british. :-D
those are absolutely beautiful!!! I love the dainty linens -- and how they match your china perfectly!!!! I feel elegant just looking at them! So lovely -- what a precious gift from your friend!
@sarasdadandmom - that is quite true. thank you, terry.
@pamfromcalgary - thank you, pam. much appreciated.
@olivetreeann - they are quite pretty, though, aren't they? thank you, ann.
