i always look forward to going about and taking photographs. i enjoy the creativity that i discover i have when taking photographs. more than that, i enjoy the surprises i see in the things i had taken for granted in the past.
our office building is about four blocks north of the lake and it takes me about five to seven minutes to walk there. i like where i work and i enjoy my work but sometimes things can get so mundane and frustrating that i feel i have to get away. i make it a point to get out of the office to take my lunch. now that i have to find a good photo opp, i use my lunch hour to walk down to the waterfront. sometimes the sights i see can be interesting, other times not so. but i go there whenever i can, even on weekends, just to relax. the gentle sound of the water kissing the rocks or the boardwalk foundation is enough to calm my nerves.
sometimes when the weather is tolerable, i walk down from my apartment to the beaches (the same water as here only it is on the east side of the lake). i like to watch the waves as they reach the sandy shore, guessing what they will take with them as they come and go. even when i was young, i always liked walking on the shore either to watch the sunrise or the sunset. there is no greater experience than to watch this phenomenon, to me it is like talking to God, then have your feet sink in the sand and the water comes to wash it off your feet. it is like i have sinned and i am cleansed therefore i am forgiven.

this brings the march challenge to a close. it has been a beautiful ride, @amyhughes et al, and i enjoyed it.
and for once, the ducks didn't chase me while i took their photos.
Congrats on completing the challenge! You are good about those! I have only done one full out the whole month...and of course.....itinvolvedbooks! My fav thing. I totally relate to all of what you said above! And looks like the ducks do too!
We're both on the same kind of walk today, summerfield. And both of us found one of God's little creatures...the duck! LOVE your pov. And your comment is beautiful. Very uplifting and calming at the same time.
what a great perspective -- the boardwalk looks sooooooooo long - -and the ducks were cooperative! What a lovely place you have to walk to. Something about water is so soothing -- I have always found it to be so!
Great perspective shot. Not sure if it's the fancy framing or lines from the planks or the ducks but it really sucks me into the vortex here. Cool effect!
