i spent last sunday afternoon at the antique market just browsing. i bought an old fujica camera - holy moley that thing was heavy! - for $12. i love me when i'm haggling, i am relentless in my pursuit of cheap stuff. on sundays this building opposite the st. lawrence market transforms into a gigantic display of artifacts of bygone eras, or not so bygone, it's a mecca for interior decorators and collectors.
outside i was quite taken by this very elegant lady. i saw her as she crossed the street towards the market. she had this warm smile as she looked around and examined the different artifacts on display. i thought she was quite elegant, her demeanor, her clothes, her hair, her accessories, all say she was. i would guess she lives in one of the condominiums nearby.
and by the way, the camera still works but i don't intend to use it. i just liked it for its tan leather case.
What do you mean you're not going to use the vintage camera? You must at least take some shots with it at home so you don't have to lug it around. People are shooting stuff with old cameras all the time on here! You have to try it at least once. Then if you don't use it again you can really call it an artifact and say you dug it up at an antique market. (o:
You DO have a keen eye -- and you find so many wonderful, beautiful, fascinating people and things!! I would love to follow you around one day! What fun that would be!!
@olivetreeann - actually, i could not figure out how to take the case off the camera. i might need a really small set of tools. the man said to get it checked and if it doesn't work to bring back. of course i'm not bringing it back. but i'm pretty sure it still works. thank you, ann.
@cscecil - thank you, CS. i'm sure you'll find it fun because there's only one place i always end up with: where there's food! hehehe.
Great capture. She does look like a very dignified, elegant person. Her look fits perfect with the surroundings. You have a great eye for the ambiance of a place.
