i planned to buy an artichoke for today's prompt, but i had qualms about doing that. first of all, it would have been a waste because, as much as i love artichoke, i do not know how to prepare it. so when i went to the market at lunchtime, i settled for a can of artichoke hearts.
my idea was to drain the artichoke hearts and then soak them in olive oil and eat them with my salad. then as i was about to open the can, i suddenly remembered that my favourite pizza has artichoke hearts as the main topping. so, i put on my running shoes and jogged about two and a half kilometres to the nearest gourmet pizza outlet and i got a slice of 'bianca', my favourite pizza!
bianca is semi-vegetarian. it has artichoke hearts, zucchini slices, garlic, feta cheese. oregano, mozzarella cheese, and parmesan cheese, drizzled with olive oil. there's the artichoke hearts in their ready-to-eat form. food for the gods! or goddess, if you will.
although i was already hungry by the time i got to the pizzeria, i had to bring bianca home for the photo shoot. and now that the photo shoot is finished, i am enjoying bianca with the blackcurrant iced tea and gelatine i made last weekend. i love artichoke!
Looks really tasty (although I'd have to go light on the garlic!). Glad you're enjoying you're dinner! I was going to buy some artichokes too- but thought they were a little pricey.
@pamfromcalgary - thank you, pam. i don't know if you have "pizzaiolo" in calgary. that's where i buy my pizza. they have a lot of variety and their prizes are more than reasonable.
@tklein - thank you, tina. it was really good!
