partner and i were at the grocery store today and i had taken shots of the asparagus in the produce section. they didn't look good, all dark and dry. but at the check-out, i found that partner had taken a bunch and he actually had taken the best looking bunch of asparagus.
i wondered how to make the shot interesting, because i am not that creative. when we store these in the fridge, we always put them in a container with a little water so they'd be fresh when we next cook them. then the light bulb over my head suddenly lit up (figuratively and literally as partner came into the kitchen and instinctively turned on the light). i grabbed a glass vase and saw a ribbon on the shelf and here you go: asparagus all spiffied up just for your viewing pleasure.

i haven't caught up with everyone's albums - i assure you i'm trying my best. thank you for your comments and for your visits; i really really appreciate them.
please take a moment and repeat to yourself, "i will never, ever think again that I am not creative." simple, beautiful, lovely AND creative shot. and so enjoyed your narrative. hope you have a wonderful day, Vikki.
@bkbinthecity - ah, sometimes i have moments of insecurities that lead to the disappearance of self-confidence that would normally become self-pity. or not! thank you, brian.
You ARE so creative -- esp with food! Your next career can be photographing food! Seriously -- you do such a super job -- and food is hard! (to photograph, not EAT!!)
Fantastic shot you sure know how to dress your vegetables...as a non vegetable lover ,, surprisingly I do enjoy cooked fresh young asparagus served with mayonnaise
@steeler - well, good for you, howard. and that's how i serve my asparagus, too, only the mayonnaise is re-processed with olive oil. thank you, howard.
Great job! You really pulled this one off! It's lovely... So, you think best under pressure....that's what most creative people do...they procrastinate until the moment comes!! BTW, I love asparagus, and I put them in the oven or the BBQ with a drizzle of olive oil, salt and pepper....delicious!
