"I am a feather on the bright sky
I am the blue horse that runs in the plain
I am the fish that rolls, shining, in the water" - N. Scott Momaday

one thing i'm sure, because it said so in the caption at the horticultural centre, that these are not spray-painted.
must apologize for not commenting on your posts and yet again getting terribly behind on my acknowledgements of your comments and views. but something's happening with this family and we may not see the grands (my grands) again or for a very long time. it's made me depressed and sad because i know how much they love coming here, as they feel this is their other home. i feel bad that children always have to lose out when their parents cannot see eye to eye, and even worse, when a parent uses the children to hurt other people. i'm sure i'll get over this rut, but it may take a while.
i'm a pretty strong-willed person, but where children are concerned, i am soft-hearted. partner and i realize we still have two other younger grands (his side) but they live far away from us and don't see them regularly, unlike the boys. but maybe that's a good thing.
thank you in advance for your views and comments. we have a long weekend coming up and i'll try to catch up then.
Lovely shot ...Hope your blues don't last to long I had these in the garden ,this colour you have to regulate the ph in the soil to get the desired effect...far to much pampering needed i prefer the wild garden.
look.I to have been busy running around and quite busy so wa...y behind.
My dad used to empty the teapot into the hydrangea, the flowers were bright pink. Since he has passed away the tea pot no longer gets emptied in there, the flowers are blue. Or is it the other way around... (I know what you mean about seeing family for a long time..... same thing happening here with a niece...... hope it all works out for the best.)
When we moved in my house the hydrangeas were deep purple, and now that I ignore them they are like this, but one summer, I drained a chlorinated pool out their direction and they turned pink.
I am so sorry about the grand kids- It is always the kids that lose. Parenting really should be taken more seriously by many. I hope it works out for you. Know that when the kids can decide on their own-they will be back.
Oh, family can be so frustrating at times, my nieces and nephews go years without being able to see us, but the long run has proven that once kids can get on facebook again, they find who they want to find. They won't be out of your life forever because controlling parents need keep the control once kids are old enough to take their own life on.
@steeler - thank you, howard. and thanks, too, for the great news. looking forward to seeing your photos from your june trip.
@noo - thank you, denise. when we used to live in the farm, my partner's mother's house, she had a big bush of hydrangea and she always told me to not feed it with any fertilizer or the flowers will turn yellow. and i thought she was just kidding.
@pandorasecho - thank you, dixie. and thank you, too, for your kind words. they comfort me so. much appreciated.
@jannkc - thank you, jann, for your kind words; quite comforting and reassuring. much appreciated.
Sorry to hear about the trouble at home. I hope things will sort themselves out properly and it won't be a case of not being able to see your grandkids for a long time. Your hydrangea shots, including this one, are lovely!
Beautiful photo. The older I get the more I realize life throws all of us all kinds of curves and ups and downs. Nothing ever stays the same. So what can you do but your best to enjoy the good times and ride out the bad until they are good again.
Beautiful color Summerfield. Great composition too. Sorry to hear about hard times. If you need a shoulder, or even someone just to release stress on, I make a good dartboard.
@losthorizon - you're such a great person, kiddo. thank you for that. but as michael elliott said above, ride out the bad times and that's what i've been doing. and i realize that i can only control what i can control and beyond that there's nothing i can do. thank you, beau. i appreciate that very much.
