a place to watch the sunset and the time go by

i take a short bus ride to this pond which we sort of discovered a few weeks ago. this pond has actually been in existence for so many years. the place around it used to be a race track (a 5/8 mile race track) but the upkeep proved to be too much for the company during the recession. so it was closed down, and parts of the property now have townhouses overlooking the beaches and were designed in the style of the houses by the san francisco bay in california. where the clubhouse once stood, it is now an extension of eastern avenue, a once non-descript road. the valet parking is now a building with a fitness centre, a tele-theatre or an offtrack betting and a large multiplex cinema. the pond was part of the infield of the track, and it was 'refurbished' to accommodate some wildlife and a hiking trail was built around it. the remainder of the track and barns are now a large park (see http://365project.org/summerfield/365/2012-02-18 ) and parking lot.

This is really really nice. I just love how you framed it, it makes the pond look like a lake. Really such a pretty shot!

Beautiful capture. Love the reflections on the water. Funny how things change. There's a park in the northern section of the city I work in. Used to be a small airport. Now its a semi famous park for its multitude of cherry blossoms, ponds and a massive cathedral.
