i read a lot, not as much as i used to because the darn camera has got in the way, but believe it or not, i still find time to read. and my friends, who come to my home (yeah, the inner circles, remember?) are mostly amazed by the variety of the books i read or have read - from biographies to ballroom dancing, from feng shui to copyright and family laws, from french to baking and home repair to fiction (hahaha, home repair to me is fiction!). maybe someday i shall be able to read my camera's manual. :-)
i've had a lot of books that were borrowed, most of them had been returned, there were quite a few where people took years to return them or never returned (guess where they are in the circles, eh?).
most of my books still look new. in grade school we were taught the proper way to read a book and how to take care of books. no dog ears, no saliva wet fingers, the like. i must've been the only pupil to follow the rules. heavens, even my magazines look like they had just come off the press!

thank you so much for your kind visits and comments. rest assured they are much much appreciated.
I get my info from the movie :P It hurts my brain to read too much! :) If you have time Sat I'm at work from 11 until 8:30 if you want to stop by for some delicious fish and chips. You'll be driving very close to where I work, just so you know! Anyway, love your watermark placement!
I was taught to take care of books in the same way -- and mine all look new, too! They are treasures to be taken care of -- and treasured! Love your variety -- and yes, home repair books ARE fiction -- hahaha!
Nice collection you have shown us here and of course this must be only a fraction of what you really have. Nice composition and lighting. Super job on your watermark. I had to look for it after the comment made by @slang
@pamfromcalgary - thank you, pam. i have three shelves full of books some of which i brought with me from the old country, lugged them with me when i lived in europe and oman. then of course because books are so affordable here, the collection just got big. some of the books i've read, i sent to manila to my father and brother, as everyone in the family has a love and thirst for reading. it would be nice when one day soon i can send you all a book with my name on the spine as author.
@bkbinthecity - thank you, brian. you say you love books. now i have to ask you: do you use a kindle or one of those electronic 'books'? because i can't bring myself to read anything on a machine like that. i love the feel and smell of paper, it adds interest to whatever it is i am reading. so it would be a long time before i could get into that.
@beba8162 - thank you, roberta. yes, i like re-reading my books. and when partner tells me to get rid of some of them, because now i have a lot on the window sills and on the floor because he won't let me get another shelf, i tell him, i'm still reading them. i won't part with any of my books now. he can deal with it however he wants if and when i kick the bucket, but until then, i told him the book stays. i do have some degree of interest in a lot of things but mostly i love reading about history and biographies.
lol I read a lot more before 365 too! I love books as well- and am totally distressed that having lived here for 9 years now I still have many packed in boxes in my attic! I miss them like old friends! I hate to admit it, but I've had to learn how to get rid of some of them because we honestly don't have the room- but the ones upstairs are still there. Their days are numbered as they say but for now, they await their fate in a box. Nice selfless selfie- quite a collection!
i am with you every step of the way, and agree that i my reading has dropped as my photography increases. this morning i burst out laughing, malcolm asked me what i was reading, so i him your line about home repair. thank you for a great start to our day, Vikki. wonderful shot, btw.
I tend to read all kinds of books too, and usually have about 5 going at once, but I am finding that as I want to keep writing, I have to insist I write first and reward myself with being able to read after.
@summerfield Nothing but the good old fashioned books for me. I find it amusing the looks I get on the bus when I pull an actual book out of my backpack to read on the way to and from work
@olivetreeann - it is hard to get attached to some things especially when they needed to be discarded. my mother used to tell me "you can't take it with to the grave so don't fret!" wise words, i suppose. thank you, ann.
@pandorasecho - well, why don't i just take a leaf off you and adopt that credo: i want to keep writing! then you guys won't see me around here. :-O thank you, dixie.
Love the variety. Now that my commute is longer I should start picking up some books. I miss having the time to read! I'd pick the witches book as well from that collection. :)
i like to read too,but same thing like you-this project takes all my time at home!reading became a road affair!i always have a book and my camera in my bag!
