yellow hibiscus by summerfield

yellow hibiscus

"With a stop light, green means 'go' and yellow means 'slow down'. With a banana, however, it is quite the opposite. Yellow means 'go', green means 'whoa, slow down', and red means 'where the heck did you get that banana?' " - Mitch Hedberg

i saw this pale yellow hibiscus on a planter at a restaurant along front street on the way to the market last week. yay! today they're still there, lots of them, although they're a tad wilted from the heat. boosted the colour in ribbet and voilà! got me a bright yellow hibiscus. what do you think is my chance of finding a green hibiscus tomorrow? fat chance, eh?

in any case, i should've just photographed my banana, to aptly go with the quote i found on the internet, but i've already eaten it when i found this quote. i was rolling on the floor laughing when i read it. yes, it doesn't take a lot to make me happy.

you can still catch up if you want to join in this challenge. check it out: http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/13208/july-thumbnail-challenge

Wonderful yellow. There is a cool picture book called "Hawaii is a rainbow" with pages of pictures in each color. That has me thinking it would be fun to do but here it is all green

I, too, ALMOST rolled on the floor when I got to the end of the quote. so funny! I can count on you for some interesting quirky post! I love yellow! It is one of my favorite colors. Depends for what though. Not to wear.

It's gorgeous!! Maybe you went to the market today and found a green banana. I'm looking forward to your post later!

@olivetreeann - yes, i walked down to the market at lunchtime, but the bananas were yellow. darn! i saw a lot of yellows, dresses, cars, bags, parakeet, even a person with yellow hair, and i mean yellow! but i was bent on looking for a green hibiscus, which i know exists, but not in this part of the planet. so i changed gears. i bought a piece of baklava instead. godawful sweet but tasted good otherwise. and i forgot to take a photo. tee-hee! thank you, ann.

@summerfield I am fine with you not taking a picture of the baklava. (o:
