I had posted this and was trying to edit it and ended up totally messing it up. So I edited it offline and am reposting and hopefully will paste in messages already there. UGH!! Tried to do something too quickly!
Anyway, this was on a wonderful hike yesterday where we tried to find frogs, snakes, and other swamp/marsh creatures. That was a failure, but we ended up leaving the bogs and marsh and on a trail to an old, falling down farmhouse. This was on the trail -- a car that had to be from the 1940s given its style and the height of the tree, which was growing out of the passenger seat. Processed in sepia to try to capture that sense of age.

There it is. Here was my comment. Hardly worth the wait! Ha, love it when this happens. Sometimes weird things make habitats. actually I like the higher contrast of this edit.
Comments already posted that I deleted. Thank you all so much -- and I've enjoyed viewing your photos from today when I looked up your "@" addresses!! TER

Great find,nicely processed in sepia!!
@danielwsc Darn!! I just upped the contrast and it looks MUCH better. I'm going to try to figure a way to repost and add in the messages folks have left by hand as it looks much much much better. I can't believe I didn't think of that as I had already not been happy with how light it was.
@fueast Thanks Alison! I can't believe I lost everyone's comments but because I didn't trust what I was doing, I'd actually pasted them into a word file just in case! I'm glad you think this is better. All thanks to @danielwsc.
@danielwsc Thanks Daniel. Just saved it in my Evernote Photo notebook for safe keeping. At least I'd saved comments so didn't lose everything, but that would have been SOOO much easier! And it's clear that others agreed with you -- thanks for the advice.
@jaynspain Yes -- I upped the contrast a bit. Last night it was late and I was tired, but I wasn't quite satisfied with it. When Daniel mentioned the contrast in his comment, it hit me that this was what I'd missed last night so I edited a bit more. It's interesting that you liked the pale version too...that was the part that I'd been disappointed in as in person, it was vibrant and I felt the sepia washed that out. Thanks for revisiting! And sorry for the hassle of it!
This is SO cool! Like really really cool! It kinda reminds me of the book, The Bridge to Terabithia (or however you spell it) I am not entirely sure why, it just does! :)
Poor forlorn and forgotten car! But what an interesting find! Nicely processed. I know the feeling- I think everything I've posted this week I've wished I could redo in some way shape or form.
@genesis_one Hi Corrie -- I tried to upload the color to my flickr account which I don't use all that much. I don't think it makes a very interesting shot in color because there was just too much green, if there is such a thing. I thought it was hard to distinguish the tree from the car. Here's a link, I think: http://www.flickr.com/photos/taffyraphael/sets/72157634624662767/
If it works (or doesn't), will you let me know?
@danielwsc Mmmm....I may have to break into album 3 -- I bought a new camera body and took my first pictures today, but have no place to put even one of them!
@taffy I agree with Daniel, this the best! But don't stress, there is always next time and if you can, go back and do it again, this time you will know what you are looking for.
@genesis_one Thanks Corrie! I feel like I learned a lot from yours and Daniel's suggestions and appreciate the time you both took on this. I actually used HDR as a first step in a bunch of the garden tour photos I took in my official role and now have to process and turn in to them.

Hi Daniel and Corrie -- per Daniel's suggestion, I processed in HDR, then tweaked a bit in Efex Pro. I think it tones down the brightness and brings up the rusty car a bit. What do you think? Here's the link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/taffyraphael/sets/72157634636472921/
