Wow -- thank you all so much for your wonderful response to my shot taken in NYC of downtown Manhattan from across the East River. It actually made it to PP today (which I've found to happen very rarely these days). I'm so excited -- a big thanks to @michaelelliott who guided me in setting up the shot!
I'm still catching up - now only one day behind. I took this photo late yesterday afternoon. When I left for the office, the stairs were clear. Several hours later, this is what greeted me when I got home. UGH!! And I was the first one back so had to do the shoveling. Our downstair's condo-sharers are quite wonderful about shoveling for us, so I can't complain...but I just did!
Processed in Topaz just because. . . I'm getting bored with just photographing snow! At least today it has started melting (oh good, flooding ahead...). One thing I sort of liked in this image is the way the tree across the street is reflected in the glass panels of our door.

Great composition and love the reflection on the door window! I love snow, especially because I don't live in it on a daily basis, but I have to salute you and everyone who has put up with way too much of it this winter! Shoveling it is probably good exercise, though.
Great feeling of symmetry. Love that reflection and your processing. Hang in there. The wind's from the south today so maybe you'll get some of our warmer temperatures soon!
I LOVE this image...and I LOVE your home! Beautiful entry! Just fabulous. Don't know if your hubby every made it to NYC...(I'm so far behind) but I am sure you made the best of it?? hahah! This is a fav!
@eyesmile Thanks so much Gena! No, the guys never made it in so Junko and I did make the best of it. Numerous photo walks, some serious shopping, and a play and a musical. We did head out on Saturday (Junko as planned, me leaving a day early since Jim hadn't made it in), but all in all, despite the weather, it was a good week, with just enough work not to feel guilty for the fun we had!
The tree reflection really pops. I don't envy you all that shoveling. For me snow is something I only need to see in pictures. I'm not sure I would enjoy living with it. I'm definitely a warm weather person!
Beautiful shot, it seams somehow unreal but in a good way, like it´s too perfect to be real, more like from some storybook. Your processings are always impressive and beautiful. That´s a lot of snow and in so short time
wow, the processing is amazing on this! A fav! (I apologize for the slew of comments you're about to get...I had trouble with my internet for the past week and I'm getting caught up)
@olivetreeann It's nice to read 'welcoming' as the look. I've often wondered at the distancing that having an iron fence around the house conveys. It's a very typical style here in Chicago, with no locks, just for design.
It is harder to get on pp now. He made the trending page sort of be the gateway to getting on pp. I think. I love the. LOL,HDR going on here and the shapes
Really like your processing, it's bold and makes a statement and goes perfectly with the image. The reflection of the tree brings in the natural element to the otherwise structured manmade shapes.
@axika@teodw@espyetta Thanks so much. I couldn't believe it when I walked home and saw all that snow between me and inside warmth. But, my first reaction was to get my camera out and photograph it!
the tree in the door makes this really pop.
