We haven't had any sunsets since I arrived on Beaver Island because of thick clouds at just the wrong time...until tonight. We were having dinner with friends who live one bay north of us when the sun broke through and the reflection on the lake turned golden. I was so glad I'd brought my camera (mostly with plans to take macro shots of their Portuguese water dog's curly hair!).

@maggiemae Thanks Maggiemae! It was the top of a small tree so I moved around on our friends' deck to try it in different positions. I liked it right on top of the sunset the best. Off to the side, it looked like a weird add-on.
I love lines in photos and are usually something I notice right away. (Yeah I know that's why we use them). But I love how the lays a path in the water and you have lined up (or nature has) the tree. And then the branches frame the bit of sun you can see. Add the golden color and it is fab.

Congrats on your awesome TT!! So, I just passed Beaver Island signs in upstate NY by Niagra Falls. Are you there still? Same place? I hoped to run into you at Niagra Falls, but no Taffy that day. I looked:). Hope you are having a great time. I LOVED seeing the intense falls!
@amandal Can't wait to see you photos of the Falls!! Yes, we're on Beaver Island in Michigan -- weird that there would be signs in upstate NY -- we're a long way away! I wonder if there is another Beaver Island there??? It was a year ago this weekend that I was in Niagra/Buffalo...and a week after we lost Nutmeg. Strange time to think back to a year ago. How long will you be at the falls? Did you see them at night as well as during the day?
