Somewhere in the farmlands of Indiana, between Indianapolis and Chicago, is a huge wind farm. But no place to stop for photos so this was a drive by -- subjected to copious amounts of editing. Then I got the song in my head. Then wasted inordinate amount of time figuring out that the correct pronoun was "Your" and not "My" for the title. What one minor photo can do to take you down a rabbit hole of time. Time now to post and be done! For ETSOOI-55 which ends on Sunday.
Thanks for having fun with me on the Zebras Influence shot -- it was a bit wild seeing all those stripes, while in color, it really was unremarkable!
I LOVE these things. I don't know why- they just fascinate me. I've found a few places where I was able to get out and take shots- the best one though I didn't really have time so I shot from the car. Big mistake. Anyway! This shot reminds me of the book by Ray Bradbury, Something Wicked This Way Comes. It just has that ominous feeling before a huge storm thanks to your editing. Cool processing- turned it into a cool shot!

I like your treatment of the windmills! I just drove through a huge field of windmills near Palm Springs yesterday. On the freeway going 70 it's next to impossible to get a photo! Yours is amazing!
I love these wind turbines and they can make such great images. Your editing had taken them to a new level! Love that sky! I am now singing the song which I also love! Can't stop now - it's going to be a musical day! Fav for making me feel happy! Lol!
Not a fan of them when they are in inappropriate places as happens too often where I live but this is a great shot and they seem to look good in this landscape
@vignouse - I am sorry Richard, but I never saw the Thomas Crown Affair. Neither the 1968 nor the 1999 version. I was a fan of Steve McQueen but not Pierce Brosnan. I was also a big fan of Dusty Springfield and I don't recall of hearing the name Noel Harrison until you mentioned it. The only Harrison I know about is George.
@skipt07 Hey Skip, I wasn't getting at you... and I was also a big fan of Dusty. Noel Harrison was Rex Harrison's son - here's a YouTube link to the original version of the song - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEhS9Y9HYjU
@vignouse - Richard, I have learned that when communicating with another person, it is always best to do it face to face. Because inevitably when writing a misunderstanding will happen. People tend to read something between the lines that wasn't intended. Believe me I have learned that lesson the hard way! Thanks for the link. I have looked at other resources and it seems that this song was Noel's only hit and possibly only recorded song? The son of Rex Harrison, now that name I recognise. Thank you for teaching me something new today. As a matter of fact, the Thomas Crown Affair sounds like and interesting movie. I might break down and watch it. I see both have the same rating. 3.5 stars.
@skipt07@vignouse Thanks for your responses and making my thread more interesting!! I didn't know Noel Harrison was Rex's son -- great to learn that! And Skip, I did love the newer TC Affair. Brosnan fit the part perfectly, and Renee Russou (sp?) was fantastic. The music was haunting in the movie's background. I hope you enjoy it if you do watch it.
@skipt07 I shouldn't have been so concise with my response! Here's how it went with me: as soon as I read the lyrics in your post, I heard the tune playing in my head... but it wasn't Dusty Springfield's voice. I had to do a search to come up with the information that I shared, but it was new to me too! I hope we're good now?
@vignouse@skipt07 Your exchange, btw, led me to YouTube where I've now listed to about 4 versions of the song -- Noel Harrison, Dusty Springfield, Barbra Streisand, and one other. It's so interesting to hear their different takes on the same song. I'm SO glad you both raised questions about this! It turns out, this is one of my favorite songs but I hadn't heard it in awhile. No wonder the title stuck with me!
Been down that rabbit hole before. I loved the movie and was a fan of Noel Harrison. I think the problem is the Skip is too young to remember. lol But not tagging him. I haven't seen the new version. Need to check it out on Netflix. I remember you attempted to photograph this area last year if my memory is correct.
Fantastic edit. I have driven past these, funnily enough driving from Indiana to Chicago. I couldn't believe how many there were. And what can I say about Rene Russou but hubba hubba :)

@taffy - Thanks you Taffy! I think I'll watch on your recommendation.
@joansmor - Well Joan, let me say that you, Richard and I share the same hair color.
