@darylo, @jyokota, and I had a great Day 1 to kick off our Smoky Mountains photo weekend. Daryl was driving her van and suddenly said, 'a bird, flying!' and pulled across the 2 lane road, finding a narrow spot on the side of the other lane next to the river. We grabbed our cameras and spent the next 45 minutes figuring out both how to get down to the river bank without breaking our necks, and how to be very patient waiting for the bird (later to learn from Daryl that it is a blue heron) to take off again. Patience rewarded. I'm so excited to have a bird in flight shot and with its reflection too. VERY exciting day!

Well done Taffy! Wonderful bif shot! Always exciting to see a heron and they are so shy it's difficult to get near one for a shot! Lovely reflection too! Fav!
If you want some great bird shots you should try Merritt Island in Florida. I have a ton from there and it wasn't even a good season for bird watching.
