I walked downtown this afternoon on a (successful) quest to score tickets to the final performance of a play we'd wanted to see. I allowed enough time to photograph along the way, looking for opportunities for urban abstracts -- one of the alternatives @ukandie1 and I had considered when we ended up choosing the zoo.
Thanks for your lovely comments on the holiday tree lighting and our view. It's something we are in awe of day after day (and night after night). We feel quite fortunate.
This is great. I really like the composition with the slight curvature in the leading lines and the contrast between the vertical and horizontal elements.
@suzanne234 I had headed out to shoot abstract architecture and almost missed this as well. All of a sudden, it really leaped out at me and I took several different shots. Sometimes it happens that way!
This is very striking. I really like those strong shadows. It would be such a great example for the bw-21 black and white shadows challenge?. Cheers Rob
@kathiecb Thanks, Kathie! The play was Yasmina's Necklace by a Chicago area playwright. It was really wonderful and I was so glad that we were able to get last minute tickets -- it was the last performance of the run and I'd just forgotten to get our tickets ordered, no excuses. It's a play that I think could win a Tony if it makes it to Broadway -- we saw it's premiere in Chicago. Very special!
