My tulips have bit the dust, and as you can see in this image, the daffodils were not far behind. I'm finding beauty in the flowers at this stage of life and it's an intriguing challenge to try to capture what it is that makes them so beautiful. This is a closeup of one of the flowers in my main album. In this one, it almost looks like it's saluting me good bye. Main album image: http://365project.org/taffy/365/2014-04-06
Oh yes, you most certainly have captured something special here, very unique take on flower past its prime, I love how light and airy it looks. And yes, i think it´s saluting me :)
I love your processing of this photo and love Daffodils. You are so lucky that your Daffodils opened. I am returning mine/getting a refund as this is the second time they did not open up and are just dying. I have never had that happen before.
Reading your description I was trying to decipher if you find beauty in these flowers at your stage of your life, or their stage of their life, but I will assume it is the latter! ;-)
I love the processing on this one....it is almost diaphonous. Curling around the edges, but still glowing with an inner flame.
The lighting is fantastic. I agree about finding beauty in dying flowers, my Mum does not agree at if she is visiting she makes a point of throwing them all away!
I love how you can see through the daffodil and also the textures of the flower. I have been into shooting dead flowers for a long time as I have always found a beauty in them.
I find beauty in flowers at all stages of their life - sometimes even more when they are dying. This is a wonderful capture showing how translucent the petals become. It is giving you a salute!
The main reason I like this better than the other is my eye doesn't tend to jump between the two. Both have great color and that wonderful foreground curve.
translucent-almost like blown glass.
