I love the spot of red in the left panel. This looks wonderful.
You have inspired me to have a go at the artist challenge, not something I normally do, so thank you.
I love how this triptych leads the eye from left to right with the greater use of negative space and distance leading to the dominance of the lines and pier. Very nice!
This is so cool!! I have never done one of these artist challenges either, but I think this one would be a fun one! Thanks for intriguing me enough to look him up....and, I just figured out how to do this in PicMonkey! :-)
Oh, I want to try this one too and it's been on my mind all week. I am thinking if the weather cooperates I would go to the beach and take my three shots so the water level is different in each of the three shots and the # of people. To tell the story. This is lovely. So glad you did one too.
It really looks great, Taffy, and I Am so intrigued at how you actually did this...did you take one picture, cropped it to a pano format and then separated it into 3 parts with white borders, or did you take 3 separate pictures? Well, either way you are genius! Interesting thing is that none of the 3 pictures make a "good" picture on their own, having either lack of composition, interest or focal point (perhaps the one on the left could stand on its own), but combined they make a terrific picture...which tells me that, if I were to attempt this, I would go for the single picture edited into three...
@ericdibosco Yep -- you've guessed it! I may try one the other way, but thought it best to start with a composition I could imagine in my head so that I could make sure I had the elements I'd want.
@taffy I saw the trees images first, and think you're right. This triptych is colourful and full of interest, but not technically as good as the other one. But I still enjoyed looking at it. Particularly liked the splash of red.
@golftragic I totally agree -- I was much more focused in the trees on alignment and balance, things I didn't notice until after I'd posted the water one.
@taffy And the difference is quite visible too. Mind you, if you had another crack at the harbour triptych now I reckon you'd nail it. I haven't yet been game enough to have a go at this challenge!
@golftragic The one I find REALLY annoying, but I don't want to lose all the comments, is the one on the right. Egad...the lack of matchup is huge. UGH.
What a fun challenge! I think I would have been tempted to have just water in the middle shot. I'll have to have a go and see if I can do half as good :) I didn't notice that it wasn't matched up until I read your comment.
