The Tokyo Forum 2 by taffy

The Tokyo Forum 2

The Tokyo Forum is an amazing modern structure that serves a variety of purposes, almost like a convention center (maybe that's exactly what it is). We spent a few hours photographing in the late afternoon through early evening, and then again late at night. Everywhere you look there's something worth photographing. I thought b&w really brought out the structures, while the color versions show the grand scale and design.
Two other examples are in my main http://365project.org/taffy/special-photos/2014-06-17 and overflow http://365project.org/taffy/365/2014-06-17 albums.
Michael's can be seen at: http://365project.org/vankrey/365/2014-06-17 and his b&w can be seen: http://365project.org/vankrey/just-one-more/2014-06-17 (this one has a cool sun flare).
Great b&w

The b & w is superb, as you say really shows off the architecture
June 19th, 2014
Wow, b&w certainly brings out the lines and shapes.

What a structure and so huge - high - wide - angles etc!
June 19th, 2014
B&w certainly helps focus on the structure

Great B&W conversion. It becomes almost abstract in this shot. I like both versions but for different reasons. It is so interesting what happens when you take the colour out of a shot.

Shows wonderful depth. I like the monochrome

Wow, great in B&W

You are giving us so much to take in and admire with these 3 posts, Taffy...
You're quite right: the B&W does emphasise the structure and lines, and I think this is an excellent vantage point for that: great symmetry and strong horizontal and vertical leading lines. This is a lovely, soft rendering...I am wondering what it would look like with stronger contrast, but I have a gut feeling that this will remain the better option...

Awesome perspective. Congratulations on making the Trending Page. Well deserved.

Amazing lines. I see why you spent so much time here. I think I prefer the b/w. It's so complex and the b/w focuses me on the structure vs the colours.
