Good-bye Night Market by taiwandaily

Good-bye Night Market

This was really the moment that it sank in for me that the night market was dead. An escalator is a fitting tombstone to symbolize the night market's death.

So good-bye to the arrogant mexican food vendor who bad mouthed all other vendors, and frequently tried to seduce girls by inviting them to a behind the scenes tour of a local temple.

Good-bye "sandwich lady" who moved around the night market several times because of the rising space rental fees. who every time would talk with me about the troubles in her life, with my chinese being barely good enough to comprehend, but not good enough to seem sympathetic.

Good-bye to the all the places which I thought were wonderful and would stop and say "it's so cool that they can stay in business even though i'm the only customer" only to find them gone a few weeks later. Good-bye to all the places which gave me great discounts for being so unbelievably handsome (i'm assuming that's why they gave me discounts). And good riddance to the places that upped their prices while lowering their portions.

You will all be missed.
Cool capture///love the story. Welcome!
