Shaving Seconds Off My Lap Times

You know when the government wastes it's money on something necessary? Well they have recently done that in front of my house and I LOVE IT!

I live on a somewhat busy street, and to cross the street I have to walk about 50 meters either way to the the nearest intersection. So this pedestrian cross light is completely over kill but it's also wonderful at the same time.

Well it may be necessary as before people always ran across the street instead of going to the intersections. It's funny that they still do this though, as many don't understand that if you push this button, the light will change so they can cross. It's cool to see their eyes light up when they see me press the button and the light changes. In their defense though I think this is only the third pedestrian crossing button i've ever seen in taiwan, and the first that actually works.

I often cross the street when walking my dog, as there is a big park over in that direction for her to play, also the streets over there are quieter and have less traffic. but it was always a pain to walk up to the intersections because at certain time there would be a crossing guard there with a whistle and that whistle would scare the heck out of my dog.

But by far the best thing about this, is that there is a bus stop directly across the street with a bus that takes me to Costco a few minutes away. There were endless times where I would see it coming but not be able to get to it cause there was too much traffic to run across the street. But now when I see it coming I can press the button for the light to stop the bus for me, as i leisurely and safely walk across the street.

Take that bus 262!
