The Safest Pictures Are The Day Before

I mentioned before that there is a street near my home which has a lot of immigrants from Burma who opened restaurants on this street. Well this is a picture of that street. The reason I'm photographing it is because today there was a huge festival on this street.

The way this festival is celebrated is by everybody having a huge water fight on this street. People bring water guns, water balloons, and even buckets, and just attack each other with water.

The picture above is actually from the day before when they were just setting up. I had forgotten completely about this festival, until when i was having lunch in the area and heard the local announcement saying that the road is being closed so they can set up. I then asked the guy when the water festival would be, and he said tomorrow morning. Which I felt kind of sad about because i had an appointment at that time.

Fast forward to today, after my appointment I hurried back home to try and catch the festival before it ended. On my walk there I saw people coming back who were just soaked from head to toe. I was a bit worried that I had missed it all, but I noticed as I got closer there was a long line of people to buy water guns.

Finally I turned the corner and there it was, pandemonium! People were running around shooting each other, and people with hoses were spraying people. Some people were drenched, some had on full body raincoats, some almost nothing on at all. It was pretty cool, even though I could tell by that time it had died down a bit.

I'm sorry to say that I am a scaredy cat, as i was too fearful to take out my phone and take pictures. I was too worried about it getting bombarded with water. Instead I present you with this picture from the day before and allow you to fill in the street with your imagination!
