Sheep are getting a lot of good press recently in Taiwan. Recently a friend was talking about her trip to some farm where there are sheep everywhere and you can feed them and play with them and cut their hair. But I always say that the best member of the caprinae family are goats!
They get a bad wrap though as rambunctious and trash eaters. When I mentioned to my friend that I prefer goats, she seemed almost disgusted. But I challenge anybody to go spend time with goats and not be smitten, they are not just clever, but very curious as well. They will happily come up an touch you and nibble you and talk to you.
Above is a picture of goat 154 from the "secret" farm in the middle of Taipei. When I asked her her name and she said "154" I felt pretty bad, so i told her her name is now Samantha. She seemed very pleased with that. Equally as cute is the goat in the back looking right at the camera. She is cleverly hiding the more bullish nature of goats, in that right behind her are two goats headbutting each other through the bars.
