If you go back to January 31st, you'll see the beginning of a few posts about a special neighborhood by the sea which has a few Futuro (the UFO style houses) and about forty Venturo homes. I dedicated a week to the UFO style homes, so now it's time for these Venturo homes to get their time in the sun.
The Venturo was designed by the same architect who designed the Futuro (UFO) home. They are modular and relatively light weight and were designed to be vacation homes which could be assembled anywhere. Although from talking to the community manager he mentioned that most of them get extremely hot when the sun is out and the weather is warm.
The ones here were given a small plot of land and a permanent address. As with the other homes in this neighborhood, most have been ignored for decades. Some have even disappeared completely leaving only the stone foundation.
Perhaps the best thing about these homes, is that they are more easily incorporated into a redesign of the property. A few people have bought these homes and then renovated and remodeled them while building on to original shape. Usually resulting in much wider homes that are now two to three stories. Over the week I plan on showing you some of these redesigns.
Also if you look in the background there is a new beach resort. There are quite a few of these in the area, and I mentioned in previous posts that more than half of these homes have been bought up by a land developer who is hoping to build a resort here, but says that in the meantime will renovate the homes and rent them out.
