OCOLOY Day 21: Urban Decay

This is part of the old rail-line that originally connected Sarzeau on the south coast of Brittany with the port of St. Malo on the north coast. There are plans to convert all of the old rail route to a green road for cyclists and pedestrians and almost half has been completed. The renovated part starts just behind where I was standing to take this and extends south for a little over 50 kilometres.

The structures on the left are several blocks of disused gas-bottle cages ready for recycling. (I have posted another version of this in my Doubletakes album for the ETSOOI challenge no. 62.)

This image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my post for 1 January and in my profile.
and from whence it (your ETSOOI image) came...so dreary...much prefer your ETSOOI'd one :o)

I feel like I'm sitting on the tracks! Great pov! We have many miles of railroad tracks converted to trails for walking, bicycling, jogging, and the like. It is called the Rails to Trails project, and it is quite a success. Using the nearby "rail trail," it is possible to travel from Pittsburgh all the way to Washington DC!

DbJ
Structure on the left, disarray to the right, divided by the rails reclaimed by time. When time has passed, which side of the tracks does the viewer identify with? Brilliant.

Fabulous perspective

Love how the lines draw your eyes to the end or point of no return!! We had a lot of tracks pulled up here too and nothing done with them! Such a shame!!! A walking cyclist trail would be awesome!! Great in B/W and wonderful composition! FAV!

So intriguing to see this as a comparison to the ETSOOI version.

It seems all over the world railway tracks are falling into decay. Such a shame. Love the leading lines in this.

I miss your processing too. The light is at the end of this open air tunnel!

It makes for a fascinating image, the tracks feel like a dividing line between man and nature.

Very gritty.

Rail track always makes a great leading line and then you have the other elements also in a line just emphasizing that vanishing point.
