I seem to be having something of a love affair with contre-jour at the moment- it's always a tough test for a camera pointing it directly into the sun, and the more so when you're intending to post SOOC. I'm not displeased with this gritty result though... and if anyone is concerned about my safety, don't be - it's a very rare occasion these days for these tracks to see a train.
This image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my post for 1 January and in my profile.
Nearly forgot to say - it views nicely on black this one... now there's a surprise!
Oh wow...the light on the tracks is magical. If you were not doing sooc the only improvement I could foresee is a slight crop from the top,but even as it is it is a definite fav!
@brigette Hi Brigette, I got a notification to say that you had Faved this photo - thank you very much - but, curiously, it's not showing on my stats! Could you try again please... unless you've changed your mind of course ;-(
Wonderful! Just love the high contrast emphasising the rails. And the light oil those stones... really good, Richard. Fav to the power n-1. (I had to subtract the 1 because those might be aircraft trails in the sky!)
@jasperc Not really: I kept increasing the exposure compensation and all that really changed was the amount of lens flare - even at +3 stops there was still no real detail in the middle ground but the flare was rather obtrusive. I think this one was taken at +1.3 stops.
@vignouse Yes, good to see the proper use of words. I bet you get the punctuation right too; especially apostrophes! :-) I am rather partial to the semi colon!
