Mum collected Toby Jugs which were much admired by Mrs S so Mum left them to her when she passed. They now have pride of place on top of the bookcases in our 'library room'. The circular staircase to our bedroom leads off this room so I pass by this little collection several times a day and usually think of Mum as I do so.
This is one of the smaller jugs and represents Silas Sly - it was probably the one that Mum liked best. The one in the background is 'Old Gaffer' who Mum said reminded her of Dad because he was an old gaffer and both of them smoked pipes.
The image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my post for 1 January and in my profile. I'm also posting for B&W February.
@jaybutterfield We also have those two Jay and about a dozen more. Mum was really 'out of it' for quite a few years before she died, otherwise I an sure she would have collected more... I've grown to appreciate them and they're quite collectable.
I love pieces like this. They say as much about the person who made them as they do about the one who collected them. Such a treasure. And a beautiful addition to our theme.
