OCOLOY Day 62: Mrs S at the kitchen window... by vignouse

OCOLOY Day 62: Mrs S at the kitchen window...

I was sitting at the kitchen table this afternoon doing some 365 commenting when I just happened to look up and see Mrs S in contemplative mood, looking out of the kitchen window. It was one of those scenes which, whilst unremarkable, you just instinctively know are going to make a pleasing image.

I would encourage you to view this on black...

This image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my post for 1 January and in my profile.
Absolutely stunning on black, beautiful silhouette. Fav.

Like all the understated textures indoors and extreme contrast of the saturated light beyond the window. Mesmerising.

Lovely scene, maybe it's more "your not playing with your camera again" :-)

@somersetflyer Not at all Andrew - Mrs S's first comment was, "Oh good, it's ages since I've been on 365" - and you can see her comment above.

We can talk about the lighting and textures and all that but the truth is I really like seeing a personal photo now and then. I like seeing your wife and your kitchen.

Those camera moments are special. Love the comp here as I can almost feel her reflecting on something. But what is it? The black on black adds to the mystery..

Tom
You have really captured a contemplative mood in this wonderful backlighted photo. So natural, so evocative Richard.

Well done, Richard (and Ms S is very cooperative). It's a lovely silhouette with enough context to convey a story.

Wonderful shot Richard.

Now this adds a little bit of a contrast to your normal shots which are out and about. I like it a lot, and like Taffy says, I can see enough around the edges to give it a context. Very cool.

@kali66 I don't always get them either Kali but there is always at least one camera sitting on the kitchen table, so all I had to do was pick it up.
