This is the Biological Research Station at Paimpont - an outstation of the University of Rennes 2. This image is for the B&W fortnight challenge 2 for which the brief is to find beauty in an urban landscape. This is a slightly different take on the brief in that this building was planted in a rural environment but it was designed to blend harmoniously with its surroundings which, as this picture shows, it does indeed do.
As usual the image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.
Well, I hope it's friendly biological research. Nothin evil or sinister by the black shits, the helicopters and secret government agencies. :) Looks very peaceful and icely shot as always.
@frankhymus It's very peaceful Frank: there are two main research streams - preserving eco-systems and long-term health in primates. BtW, I love the what the auto-correction did to your mention of 'black suits' ;-))
OCOLOY is your trademark. Your shots are refreshingly different, far from the madding crowd and attracting more views for what often might be considered as a poor relation to Pzazz Pix. Rock on!
Like me, this is probably as close as you get to 'urban' on a daily basis. I do like the shapes and angles in this building and how they are reflected in the water.
Nascent waterlilies...or something more esoteric?
