You've seen this château before but photo opportunities were a bit thin on the ground today. It was a grey day and the light seemed to give the old walls the gravitas of having stood unyielding for almost 600 years.
As usual, this image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.
It has a timeless quality, partly due to the B&W. Now, if you had not beeen doing your SOOC project, would you have cropped it? And if you had not been doing your OCOLOY project, would you have used a different focal length?
@laroque Would I have cropped it? Perhaps marginally at the left and a tadge more at the bottom. Other images I have taken of the château have been at the same focal length or 28mm (FF equivalent), you can see them by following the tag. I did take one at 24mm which you can see here - http://365project.org/se7en/365/2014-08-09. As you can see, the château photographs nicely when there is no wind and there is a clear reflection in the moat. In summary then, with a free hand I wouldn't have done this much differently.
@vignouse Thank you for the detailed reply. Agree with you about the cropping. I'm considering a new lens so I am gathering info, particularly at shorter focal lengths for landscapes.
