OCOLOY Day 167: Concarneau

Final full day of this holiday (we need to go home tomorrow) which we've chosen to spend in Concarneau. Concarneau is famous for it's walled town which was constructed inside the fortifications of a fort built by Vauban - a Marshal of France and foremost military engineer of his time - who constructed most of the key defences of 17th C. France.

This image was taken from the ramparts of the old walled town looking back towards the modern town and, as usual, the image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.

Try viewing on black...
Have you been here before? Nice city scape.

It's pretty hard to avoid M.Vauban's works here in France, we have a good collection ourselves down here in the P.O. Do I see the 'rule of thirds' at work in this shot too.

Interesting to visit Vauban's 5 point star defences...and particularly to see the moment captured in its modern role.
