I have tended to view myself as someone who doesn’t “get” abstract art. Or at least I did until I joined 365!
I have been so impressed with some really great abstract posts by some clearly very talented photographers. And I feel privileged that they have chosen to share their artistic creations here as well as providing a lot of encouragement and feedback for others.
This is my first time taking part in the artists challenge. I am new to photography and know next to nothing about the history of photography or who is viewed as an artist. But it’s never too late to learn!
Having followed the links provided by @kali66 and @caterina I was surprised to find that I was intrigued and very taken with Franco Fontana’s work although I am not sure why! It feels terribly presumptious to try to imitate such a master of the genre but here is my first attempt at a Fontana-type landscape
I have not heard of Franco Fontana so thank you for bringing him to my attention too! Looks like you have hit the nail on the head with your first attempt...I like the different slants with the bands of colour.
Wonderful shot, my first thought was this would be great for the Fontana challenge, and then I read your narrative. Job so very well done I would say :)
Thanks Lesley. It is a pity it was such a dreary overcast day. I think it would have looked a lot better with a blue sky and some sunlight.
This was for the current artists challenge: https://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/31940/artist-challenge-is-starting-today-franco-fontana
The current mundane objects - road markings challenge also highlights franco fontana: https://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/31929/mundane-object-s-road-markings
I appreciate all the nice comments and favs. It ended up on TP and PP so thanks very much :)
