Floral Tea  by Allison

Floral Tea

Looks better enlarged if you have time :-)

Tonight I was walking from the car to the garage laden down with bags....Aarons backpack, sports bag, my bags, along with camera bag, when my camera and lenses all crash to the floor......I hadn't closed the camera bag properly. My camera is okay....I've taken lots of shots since, and the 60mm macro that was on the camera is fine (although I thought it was broke, but it was just the filter...thank goodness) and my 50mm broke...thankfully it was the cheaper 1.8, and not a 1.4, so it could have been much worse. Anyway I've just purchased the 50mm 1.8, and will do a store pick up tomorrow, which means I get to browse camera goodies, so it's not all bad, although I think my neighbours heard me saying "oh fiddlesticks" or something along those lines, but not as nice ;-)
Wow creative shot love the flower :)

Oh no, I did a similar thing last year and dropped my bag with my camera and 50mm 1.4 doesn't work anymore. I did replace it with the 1.8 but I just don't like it as much. I am going to have to get the 1.4 fixed. This is a lovely shot btw.

Thankfully your camera is fine. A wonderful image Allison. Great focus. Nice composition. I love the simplicity of you shots. Fav

@munkoyey thank you Curtis :-)
@nicolecampbell isn't it sickening when it happens, thankfully it was the cheap lens that broke. Glad to hear you're getting the 1.4 repaired :-)

Lovely shot, I love blue and white china and yellow goes so well with it :) I'm glad your camera was ok, and not too damage done.....
January 25th, 2014
@derekvickers thank you Derek. Yes the camera seems fine......I was out snow later taking shots (although after that little scare, I may be drinking shots ;-), well for a min or so....it was too cold to stay out any longer :-)

Gorgeous shot Allison i love your set up
January 25th, 2014
@cazann thanks Caz :-) My mum used to collect Royal Albert, and I'm turning into my mum between the china and the plants :-)

Awww, I went through a range of emotions reading your story... from Oh no..to wow, what a great attitude, to Bahahahahaha (re neighbors)! In the end...beautiful shot! Love the processing and the clear focus on the flower.

January 25th, 2014
Great shot! I liked the ending to your story ... fiddlesticks indeed! ;-)
January 25th, 2014
I'd be gutted if my 60mm macro lens broke. Glad yours was ok. Lovely flower in a teacup shot. Pretty, cheerful, yellow!
January 25th, 2014
A very beautifully composed shot Allison. I do enjoy the way you put a shot together. Skills way beyond me. Sorry to hear about your misadventure, though I guess you were relieved in the end.

@luvmynynix thank you Laurie :-)
@jpgiorgio thank you JP.......hope you have a great weekend :-)
@jamibann lol I don't have a potty mouth, but if someone cuts me off, or something unexpectedly happens "oh fiddlesticks" comes out before I can stop it unfortunately ;-)

@seanoneill thank you so much Sean, and yes very relieved, and I also now have an excuse to head over to Best Buy tomorrow :-)
January 25th, 2014
Oh, fiddlesticks, I hate when that happens. Great shot, love the DOF Enjoy shopping tomorrow.
January 25th, 2014
@bill_fe fiddlesticks indeed! Thank you Bill :-)

I like the angle, focus and dof! Pretty flower.
January 25th, 2014
God I love the vintage effect you get in your images they would be so marketable!

January 25th, 2014
Good morning dear Alllison, OMG on dropping your camera and glad to know it survived. Love this shot - your pictures always have such a graceful flare to them.
January 25th, 2014
@tte thank you :-)
@kwind thank you :-)
@hasselhotch many thanks David :-)
@dclics thank you :-)
@vega good morning.......oh gosh I felt so sick when I heard everything crash to the floor......taught me a valuable lesson, as I'm not as careful with the gear as I should be, and don't use a strap on my camera, although I did put a strap on it later, and will make sure everything is closed and sealed up. Thank you....hope your weekend is off to a great start :-)
January 25th, 2014
This is such a gorgeous shot!!
January 25th, 2014
"Oh fiddlesticks" indeed but huge admiration for your positive approach to the situation and that despite your traumatic day, your creation of a gem of a photo. The flower looks so real I feel I could reach out and touch it.
January 25th, 2014
This is so lovely, fabulous composition, creativity and tones
January 25th, 2014
Oh you got me again. Love yellow flowers. Lovely to see on yet another snow day over here :)
January 25th, 2014
Lovely DoF. :)
I remember oh too well the sound a camera and/or lens makes dropping on the floor. Glad the damage was limited. The UV filter saved my 300mm once. ;)
January 26th, 2014
such a pretty shot... so glad camera and all are ok... i'd have said a heckuva lot more than "fiddlesticks" it it had been me!
January 26th, 2014
Oh fiddlesticks is right!! So glad it wasn't more serious. Lovely image combining the bright yellow and the vintage china.
January 26th, 2014
What a right royal pain but as you said, it could have been a lot worse.
Beautiful shot, fav!
January 26th, 2014
just beautiful......nice composition,your so creative!
January 26th, 2014
Such a simple concept and so beautiful 😊
January 26th, 2014

Very nice composition, a glimpse of spring in the winter. Sorry to heard about the camera accident.
January 26th, 2014
@carys thank you Carys :-)
@hh thank you Kate :-)
@roseolivia really appreciated...thanks Rachel :-)
@adamj isn't the weather lousy.....we had more snow last night.......footwear of choice will be snow shoes soon ;-)
@humphreyhippo it's so sickening. I swear the filter saved my macro, although the 50mm crumpled, but it's hardly a quality lens build wise. But I did get another 50mm along with a couple of extra UV filters.....so tempted to get the 50mm 1.4, but I'm trying to be good......good sucks ;-)
@northy oh I did......I sounded like a sailor......it wasn't pretty what escaped from my mouth ;-)
@ishutter thank you Kim :-)
@kjarn thank you so much Kathy.....very much appreciated :-)
@debihas27 thank you Debi :-)
@andreajoy many thanks Andrea :-)
@happysnap I grabbed another 50mm so it wasn't as bad as it could have been :-)
@antoine thank you :-)

January 27th, 2014
@joeyc thank you Joey :-)
@cocobella thanks Corinne :-)
@wenbow thank you Wendy :-)
@bluefirebucket lol of course I'm sweet, although I'm not proud that Aaron heard me saying "oh f$%^", but it was out before I could stop it, and now he keeps saying "mum don't swear again....okay" :-)
January 27th, 2014
The blue blurred china makes wonderful frame for the yellow flower!Very pretty image!
