Eyebrows by Allison

Eyebrows

On Saturday I went to get my eyebrows waxed. Well I'm not sure if they used a different wax, or my skin has become more sensitive, but the skin underneath my eyebrows has been driving me nuts ever since....sooooo itchy, and to make it worse, last night, the skin started coming out in bumps.....very pretty! So I think next time I go the salon, I'm going to mention it and see if they can tweezer them instead, the alternative being I walk around like Denis Healey....not going to happen lol

The photo has nothing to do with eyebrows, but I thought they looked pretty, and it's snowing again!!!
Love, love this shot :) FAV !! OMG on the brows sounds like maybe an allergic reaction to the wax ? You poor things.

PS - I was surprised and sorry to see they disqualified your collage. I had voted for it and was included in the email saying it had too many pics.
February 18th, 2014
@vega I'm not sure.......I usually go every couple of months and get them done, and never had a reaction (well only a little bit of itchiness) but your skin changes. This morning I went to the pharmacy wearing sunglasses and it was snowing lol

Love the two colours in the roses and I have never had my eyebrows waxed :-)
February 18th, 2014
@richardcreese hahaha you men get off so lightly ;-) Thanks Richard :-)
February 18th, 2014
@vega just one of those things, but thank you so much for voting :-)
February 18th, 2014
Hope you get better & it never happens again! :) Beautiful flowers & really love the softness of your photos, gives them a special mood. Sorry that you fell out of the nature collage challenge - you were my other collage choice!
February 18th, 2014
@axika thank you Alexandra....no worries.......my own fault :-)
February 18th, 2014
Great shot Allison and narrative!
February 18th, 2014
It certainly is snowing again. The flakes are HUGE!!! I want to go out and take pictures, but I am not fond of the cold! lol The flowers are beautiful, and I love the processing used! Oh, and I stopped waxing and started getting threading done… I love it! :)
February 18th, 2014
@lauramalone82 thank you Laura :-)
@dandelionmama the snow is nearly piled as high as my mailbox, and I was debating whether or not to go outside, but I'm so warm and toasty lol I'll definitely look into the threading......I've heard good things about it. Thanks Shandy....stay warm :-)

Gorgeous tones! Ugh - eyebrows - let's not talk about them. I've had a hate relationship with them forever. Hope you recover soon!
February 18th, 2014
Oh, I hope your eyebrows are better soon. I love this photo - really pretty.
February 18th, 2014
@kass oh no.....the things we have to do....much easier to just be a hairy beast :-)
@jamibann thank you Issi :-)
February 18th, 2014
Pretty shot... electrolysis is the way to go. Pricey but it lasts a lifetime.
February 18th, 2014
Sounds like an allergic reaction. Can you get E45 over there?
These are so pretty - did your valentine get them? ;)
February 18th, 2014
What beautiful light you've captured. Your commentary is hilarious (hope it clears up soon!).
February 18th, 2014
@kwind thank you....I may eventually resort to that :-)
@humphreyhippo my sister is a pharmacy dispenser, and she also suggested E45, but you can't get it over here, so I've been dabbing away with witch hazel, which seems to be helping, until the next itching fit ;-) Unfortunately I bought the roses......sad I know :-)
February 18th, 2014
Sorry to hear that your waxing caused you problems. At least it is a warning as to what could happen if you go for [ahem!] other areas to be waxed. That would be much more uncomfortable.
February 18th, 2014
Weird. I always get mine waxed but the pain goes away the next day.. Hope it gets better. :) Love the color of the roses!
February 18th, 2014
@allisonraposa That's a shame. Another good one is any cream with wheatgerm in it. Not that I get a lot of allergic reactions or anything. ;)
February 18th, 2014
Lovely shot, Allison! Such pretty colors and soft processing. So sorry about your brows. I had a waxing disaster once with peeling skin and open sores. I always request tweezers now.
February 18th, 2014
@steampowered hahaha now some things just don't bear thinking about......thanks Paul :-)
@sierranicole423 it is odd, especially as I've never had a problem before. Thanks Sierra :-)
February 18th, 2014
@pflaume that's terrible, Lisa.....I don't blame you. I think I'll go with the tweezers or try threading :-)
@lisatargowska thanks Lisa :-)

JP
they do look pretty (I am talking about the roses seeing that I cannot see your eyebrows of course ;-p joking...hope they get better soon!). love the warm mood in this shot! :)
February 18th, 2014
Gorgeous roses
February 18th, 2014
Really like the subdued tone. It's rather nostalgic.

Thanks for the comment and the fav! on my Conure Cuties. That's really sweet of you.
February 18th, 2014
@jpgiorgio hahaha the roses are pretty, as for the eyebrows haha...scary! Thanks JP......hope you're feeling 100% now :-)
@wenbow thank you so much Wendy :-)
@lyndemc you're welcome, it was a gorgeous capture :-)
February 18th, 2014
That doesn't sound good at all. Lucky for Aaron that he kicked you into the long grass for another valentine ;-) I hope all is well soon. Lovely watercolour qualities in this shot. You are fabulous at this type of shot, big fav.
February 18th, 2014
A lovely shot, it has a country home feel to it for me. Oh dear, not a happy eyebrow story. How about threading?
February 18th, 2014
@seanoneill lol yes thankfully he had the foresight to do that....it would have happened once he saw the eyebrows anyway ;-) lol Thank you so much Sean.......hope the weather's improving....just a little? :-)
@happysnap thank you so much Linda :-) I think I will try threading next time :-)
February 18th, 2014
@allisonraposa yes, the wind has dropped and the rains have stopped. We've even had brief glimpses of sunshine and a sunset on Sunday!!
February 18th, 2014
@seanoneill I'm glad to hear the sunshine paid you a visit and it's getting a little better. It's going to start warming here over the next few days...it needs to as we had another snowstorm today.....I will never complain about how hot it gets in Summer, well I may, but not out loud ;-)
February 18th, 2014
@allisonraposa me neither! We've had no snow yet, that's all we need!!
February 18th, 2014
Not a good day for the eyebrows then ;) I love this shot, it's so beautiful. Great composition too.
February 18th, 2014
Yikes, more snow and an allergic reaction!! Sounds like you're taking it in stride. : ) These beautiful roses should bring a smile. Lovely photo!
February 19th, 2014
I like the way you've processed this, Allison. Especially when I see the contrast to the monochrome version posted today. They are both really stunning shots, with wonderfully different takes on the same subject.
February 19th, 2014
I love the processing. The soft light. Has a vintage feel to me.
February 19th, 2014
Such beautiful flowers and a stunning capture! Hope your eyebrows have now returned to normal. Bought a cheapish foundation a few months back and within two days came in huge rashes across my face! Not the same but know how you feel :-)
February 19th, 2014
Lovely dof Allison and I like how the processing makes the petals jump out.
Eyebrows.........I've heard other middle aged women complaining that their skin started to go funny as they got older ;)
February 19th, 2014
@bluefirebucket haha I think you incorrectly typed other, as I know you intentionally would not type that ;-) Thanks...I guess ;-) lolol
February 19th, 2014
Caz
Pretty roses, love the image. Sorry about your poor eyebrows, hope they feel a bit better today !
February 21st, 2014
I hope by now your eyebrows are better and looking as lovely as your roses in this stunning photo. Another fav-alicious photo for me.

Nature plays very mean tricks on us as we get older! Luckily one of them is worsening eyesight, so there comes a point when you can't see what madness is going on, which is a good thing :0)
February 22nd, 2014
@cazann thank you Caz...thankfully back to normal, although not sure that's a good thing :-)
@hh lolol so true!!!! At least the worsening eyesight spares us the embarrassment of seeing hairs pop up in places where there really should not be hairs lol :-) On that cheery note, thank you Kate.....hope your weekend is off to a lovely start :-)
February 22nd, 2014
@allisonraposa Thanks Allison :0) x
February 22nd, 2014
I hate it when that happens and also when the wax is too hot, I hope it is healing okay. Gorgeous flowers btw.
February 23rd, 2014
Beautiful roses and I really like how you processed this.
February 24th, 2014
Those are so pretty!!! LOVE the tones!
February 27th, 2014
Very pretty, lovely colour.
